Senior Iranian cleric stressed commonalities of all Islamic denominations and rejected any disrespect for sanctities of denominations among Muslims.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Senior Iranian cleric stressed commonalities of all Islamic denominations and rejected any disrespect for sanctities of denominations among Muslims.

Ayatollah Abbas Ali Soleimani, Prayer leader of Kashan, in Iran’s Isfahan province, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) stressed there is no reason for disrespect of Islamic sanctities by followers of different denominations.

He referred to Qur’anic view on necessity of respect for others and quoted the holy book of Islam when it calls on Muslims to obey the right as it is equally taught to all Muslims.

The cleric noted,” All of us (Muslims) are common in believing in monotheism; therefore, why should we attack each other’s sanctities?”

He reiterated,” Why should we (Shias) desecrate Sunni santities and why should they do so as respect is a principle in Islam and it maintains utmost esteem for all religions.”

Representative of the Supreme Leader and prayer leader of Kashan quoted the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) saying that the mission of all prophets was completion of religion.

Ayatollah Soleimani said,” Our religion has ordered us to respect religious sanctities.”
